Strong Delusion Has Begun
Recent events have prompted us in regard to what we are watching unfold on the world-wide stage right before our eyes. In our lifetime, various players have received the fanatical adoration of millions of people. In the 1930's, the average American could not concieve of how an intelligent nation such as Germany could fall under the evil spell of Hitler and vote him into office.
What should concern the true Christian, who, given the times we live in, is that the "Christian" church of Germany bought in to Hitler and his "change".
Hitler wanted to "change Germany", and he succeeded. He changed it from a republic to a dictatorship, it changed from a place where Germans lived in peace with their neighbors to a place where neighbors turned against their Jewish friends. He changed it into a militarized aggressive state that sought world domination and he changed it into a place where millions of its' own citizens would be slaughtered.
Can it (persecution) happen here to Americans, can it happen to Christians this time?
It has already happened to Christians MANY times in MANY countries around the world. It happened all through the book of Acts. It is happening in Somalia, Indonesia, China, and many Middle Easte nations.
As a friend of ours is wont to say "the crowd is usually wrong". In Christianity and in the history of God's people, it usually fell to the prophets to speak out warning, repentence, and seek to turn people to the Lord. The people usually followed leaders who told them what they wanted to hear.
In recent days, I had a chance to speak with some people in regard to the man who will live in the Whitehouse. While we did not vote for either of the candidates, as there is no such thing as political salvation, I was very alarmed by the legitimate news stories regarding the backround and the statements made by the voters choice himself.
I heard a radio interview with a well known conservative economist. When confronted with facts and direct quotes and news, the interview guest either shrugged off, downplayed, or blatantly excused the illegal, immoral, and unconstitutional actions of a certain candidate. He was not willing to even consider the evidence in a blatant disregard of truth!
In his own words the candidate promised unrestricted abortion "rights", including the killing of babies who somehow survived the abortion process. In his own words the candidate vowed to reverse the law requing abortion centers to fully inform their clients of the possible consequences of their actions.
Either one of those statements should have immediately disqualified him from serious consideration for any public office in a free, God-fearing nation.
It was then I realized that God Himself was sending a delusion upon the people of this country including Christians, who have fallen into the idolatry of this world. When a person refuses to consider straightforward facts and refuses to hear truth when it violates his pre-concieved ideas, he is in position to receive a lie. Here is what the Bible says about this:
2Thess 2:10 and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause (not having a love for truth) God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie: 12 that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Will it happen again? History says "YES". The Bible says"YES".
